"Politics of Knowledge" has been concerned with the issues surrounding the
acquisition of knowledge.
The group consisted of artists, theoreticians, designers namely Anke Haarmann
(2022-2024), Anastasia Loginova (2022-2023), Elisabeth Rafstedt and Johanna
Ehde (the Rietlanden Women's Office) (2022-2024), Erik Kluitenberg (2022-2024),
Ingrid Grünwald & Maarten Cornel (the Big Dialogue) (2022-2024), Sophie
Allerding(2022-2024), Tatjana Macic (2023-2024), Wieneke Bremer (2022-2023),
Winnie Koekelbergh(2022-2023), Zuzanna Zgierska (2022-2024).
In the process of working together and exchanging ideas, methods and approaches,
it has been necessary to examine rigorously the concepts of 'artistic' and 'knowledge
creation' and their relationship.
The concept of 'other' knowledge was open to question, as was who determines its
relevance. The contexts of knowledge production were also worth investigating,
given that “Politics of Knowledge” was researching within an institution that was both
unusual (artistic) and ordinary (governmental). Furthermore, the question of who
became part of "Politics of Knowledge" was important, as it raises the question of
who gains access to research and knowledge, and according to what criteria.
On the one hand, a problematic situation arises when everyone claims everything,
and no justification can ultimately contradict this. Conversely, a promising situation
arises when more than a few can make truthful claims, and alternative contexts of
justification assert themselves.
“Politics of Knowledge” has been exploring this promise - or dilemma - in exhibitions,
workshops, field trips to the countryside, radio programmes and in this publication.
